Hi All.
This is Brian and I'm the adjudicator for this round of diplomacy. Countries have been assigned. As the previous winner, Jeremy gets his choice, and chooses France. The rest of the countries have been assigned at random.
Jeremy - France Cale - Italy Chris - Germany Gord - England Walt - Turkey Ryan - Russia
I appreciate a casually paced game, but the last one was really slow. Chris suggested 4 days between moves, and that seems reasonable to me. Just do your best and we will try to keep a good pace. I will not void anyones moves because of a late entry, but I will set soft deadlines for each turn and please make best efforts to meet them so the game will progress smoothly.
As we have a lot less face to face contact between players these days, compared to previous games, I would encourage everyone to make the most of email and pm communication for diplomatic purposes.
Begin writing your diplomatic messages, and I will get each user assigned to their country's message board in the next day or so. Everyone please send me what you want for your password to your country's board.

On a serious note I removed my e-mail from the Admin profile and it sent a confirmation e-mail to Brian so please check that first. Sorry I got excited about playing and not herding cats.

Ok, the new map is set up and people have been assigned to their boards. I have only received 2 passwords so far... please everyone send me your passwords and then we are ready to go.

OK boys for those of you who don't know we're on hold until after Walt has a chance to deal with a family emergency. If he has too much on his plate after Monday we'll discuss waiting or subbing someone in. No big deal since the first turn hasn't gone down although some alliances may have to be rethought.

Certainly. Family matter have to come first after all. What about France? I think he is the only other one without orders in yet from the looks of the number of posts?

Ok, Craig has agreed to fill Walt's spot, so that we don't need to bother Walt with trivial matters during a time of crisis. Any diplomatic communications for Turkey will need to be re-sent to Craig please. Because of the confusion I will allow some time for people to reconsider their moves if needed. Please just get moves in as soon as you can and we will proceed once all moves are in. Starting with the Fall turn I will set a deadline for the moves.
Thanks, Brian

That's really the best way to do it, I think. I've found having 'soft' deadlines means nothing gets in on time. At least having a due date gives you an excuse to start harassing people. Sucks to hear about Walt though.

Ok, slight change of plans today. Walt sent his board password through, and Craig prefers to take a break for this game. so I've switched Turkey back to Walt. Really sorry for the mixup everyone. If anyone needs extra time to re-negotiate, please let me know. As soon as Walt gets his moves posted we will move on to the fall turn.
